Sarana Vihara opened out of a wish to support people in their Dhamma practice, but in order to be able to serve its community it also needs the support of its community. We follow the beautiful model of conscientious, joyful, reciprocal care the Buddha established within the fourfold assembly, and strive to thoughtfully engage with the many complex questions of how this can be skillfully approached in our modern societies.
Our starting point is the deepest respect for every intention of kindness and generosity and an energized commitment to fulfill our duty to reflect back every spark of goodwill as best we can. Cultivating these gleaming qualities can brighten and soften the mind, and carry it further into the practice.
Rooted in this foundation, we warmly receive all support offered to us.
